Whiskers Packaging Range
Whiskers, endorsed by actor cum model Rannvijay Singha, is a new entrant in the rapidly evolving men’s grooming and styling market of India. The brand offers a niche range of research based products for beard, hair, skin and tattoo care. We were mandated to create packaging design for the entire range. The brief was to create a design that could appeal to modern men, capture their attention on a shelf and make them want to flaunt it in their wardrobe. Entire range was to be created with a consistent theme which could resonate well across range of products.
Packaging of a product interacts with consumers before the product does. Especially in a category like grooming & styling where actual interaction time with the product is very limited, strong packaging that serves as a reminder of the product becomes very crucial. Our idea was to effectively communicate benefits of the product, which shows value to the consumers, and at the same time create a design that helps the brand strengthen its positioning in the market as masculine and stylish men’s grooming brand.
Across the product range, we focused on communicating USPs while keeping the design to minimal. As brand was entering the market for the first time with these products, we assured prominent presence of logomark and logotype on the packaging to establish strong brand recall. We chose black as theme colour of the design as it is one of the most masculine colours. In addition, it complemented the logo. Further it was conveniently available in variety of product forms like dropper bottle, pump dispenser, tube, tin box etc. For its flagship product, beard oil, we created innovative outer box that provides unique unboxing experience. We also explored creative printing applications in order to render better finish and visual appeal to the packaging.
Whiskers’ products have been well-received in the market. Its packaging design has helped the brand to strengthen its positioning and create a premium and international brand image. Products have received good reviews online and offline. The brand is steadily penetrating newer territories to expand its business. In fact, we won Gold for Best Packaging Design in prestigious Foxglove Awards in national category for packaging design of Whiskers.
