Client Brief

With changing times, every client wants to revamp the look of their products and appeal to the present generations and their taste. Nirma’s popular product, Washing Powder was to be given a revamped packaging identity and we took this challenge happily.  

Idea

When you already have a brand that is no less than legacy, it is important to keep the recall and nostalgic value intact. We decided to revamp the brand packaging without playing with its core identity and the face with which people recognize it popularly. Our idea was to keep it simple and relevant but maximize the portion of visual space. 

Execution

Keeping the spinning ‘Nirma Girl’ at the centre and a prominent English Logo at the centre as opposed to the old packaging which had only the Hindi Logo. The old boundary that earlier confined the design was removed to give a more fluid appearance to the whole design. The previously blue circle shape was re-thought about and turned into a wavy water design with ripples and a fabric-like texture appearance. The overall package now resonates with the English-speaking new generation while keeping intact the legacy that the brand has successfully built over the years.

Result

The new design is strikingly resonant with what the brand wanted to express and the design was appreciated and applauded by the client. The new packaging took to the shelves and appealed to the new and the old generations alike.
